Chairman's Welcome

It is a real privilege to have been elected Chairman of The King's School, Grantham Alumni Society, especially as we look ahead to a very special milestone — our 125th anniversary in 2026. This is a moment to celebrate the generations of Old Boys who have gone before us, but also a chance to look forward and reimagine what our Alumni Society can be for the next 125 years.

My hope is simple: to build on the strong foundations already in place whilst also reinvigorating the Society for the future  — making it engaging, relevant, and welcoming to all former pupils. We want alumni to feel connected — to each other, to the school, and to the next generation of King’s students.

For me, The King’s School had a hugely positive impact — not only in the education I received, but in the friendships I made, the opportunities I was given, and the values that have stayed with me ever since. It’s this personal experience that makes me so passionate about ensuring today’s pupils, and future generations, benefit from the same sense of belonging and opportunity.

Over the coming years, we’ll be putting energy into building stronger networks, creating fantastic events where we can reconnect and share stories, developing mentoring and career opportunities for pupils and young alumni, and fostering a culture of giving back that supports the school’s future.

Our vision captures this perfectly: to be an engaged alumni that proudly champions our school’s legacy, fosters connections and empowers students. By leveraging alumni and staff expertise, we will inspire growth, strengthen our community and ensure the continuing successes of The King’s School, Grantham.

I’m excited about what lies ahead, and I’d love as many of you as possible to be part of this journey — whether by coming along to an event, sharing your experiences, mentoring a student, or simply reconnecting with old friends. Together, we can make our alumni society something we’re all proud to belong to.
